Although Liberia has been known for some time to have vast mineral resources and producer of gold and diamonds, recent discoveries have raised interest in the region to a new high.
Of the Weaju prospect, Independent consultants A C A Howe International Limited estimate an uncut geological resource in the inferred category, estimated 233,000 contained ounces of gold. Since - the calculation is based on only four intersections the resource has been classed in the inferred category using the AusIMM JORC code. Additional drilling would quickly upgrade this to an indicated resource.
Similar 'bonanza' type grades have been encountered in sampling of artisanal workings some 750m west of the zone drilled to date and results are awaited from a trenching and soil geochemistry survey aimed at defining further drill targets for the coming field season.
As a holder of Liberian Mineral, Gold and Diamond concessions, First Clearing LTD of Liberia will continue to explore better mining and production methods. |
